Tips For a Safe Night Out

Going out in a large city like London can be dangerous, always be careful, and look after yourself and your friends. We've collected a few tips and resources below, please have a read before going out.

1. Plan Your Journey

Know how you're getting to the venue and, more importantly, how you're getting home. Check last train/tube times or pre-book a licensed taxi. Share your location with a trusted friend. Some of these clubs are quite far out of the center, so always check where you're going and that you are comfortable with the journey.

2. Stay With Your Friends

Arrive together and leave together. It's easy to get separated in a busy club, so set up a meeting point in case you lose each other.

3. Watch Your Drink

Never leave your drink unattended, and don't accept drinks from strangers. If you feel unwell or unusually drunk, tell a friend or a member of staff immediately.

4. Know Your Limits

Pace yourself and drink water between alcoholic drinks.

5. Trust Your Gut

If a situation or a person feels off, it probably is. Remove yourself from the situation and find a member of staff or security if you feel unsafe.

6. Wear Ear Protection

Earplugs are essential if you go to clubs and gigs regularly, and often even improve the sound and experience. For recommendations, check out this article from Louder Magazine.
